Trevali's Board of Directors and Management are committed to the highest standard of corporate governance and monitor changing rules, regulations and best practices on a continuing basis. The Company's business and operating practices are stated in the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, which is applicable to all directors, officers and employees. The Code establishes a set of expectations and standards for the Company and its personnel with respect to ethical business practices, personal conduct, environmental, safety and occupational health practices, competition and fair dealings, and disclosure of information.
Trevali has also adopted a Reporting and Investigation Policy, and has partnered with ClearView Connects to provide a confidential incident reporting hotline, in order to provide an avenue for representatives to raise concerns with respect to actual or potential violations of law, regulations or company policy and to ensure that any concerns are acted upon appropriately.

Chief Financial Officer
Brendan Creaney is a business administration professional with 15 years of experience in the mining and construction industry with a focus on finance, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and strategy. Before joining Trevali he spent 7 years at Goldcorp holding various progressive roles ending his tenure as Director of Corporate Development and Value Assurance. Prior to Goldcorp positions were held at Barrick and Novagold advancing the development of projects. Mr. Creaney holds a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the University of Manchester and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Victoria.
Chief Operating Officer
Derek du Preez brings more than 25 years of experience working at mining operations across Canada, Australia, and Africa, where he has held operational, project and technical roles with increasing levels of responsibility. Most recently, he served the Company as Chief Technical Officer where he successfully completed several critical projects, including the Rosh Pinah Expansion Project ("RP2.0") NI 43-101 Feasibility Study. Before joining Trevali, Derek was a Principal Consultant at AMC Consultants. Prior to that he held the position of Director, Digital Transformation, North Atlantic at Vale Canada, and Head of Digital Delivery Centre at South32, as well as a progression of operational roles at BHP Billiton. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineer's Certificate of Competency from South Africa, is a Technologist Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia in the Mechanical College, and has completed a Management Development Program through the University of the Witwatersrand.
Chief Legal Officer
As Chief Legal Officer, Steven Molnar is responsible for all legal matters involving Trevali and its subsidiaries, in addition to providing leadership and direction on matters relating to corporate governance and enterprise risk management. Before joining Trevali, Steve practiced corporate and securities law at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, where he provided advice on a variety of matters and transactions including corporate governance, regulatory compliance and public company reporting, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, equity and debt financings, joint ventures and other commercial arrangements in the mining industry. Steve holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University. He is a member of both the British Columbia and Ontario Bars.
Chief People Officer
Joanne Thomopoulos is an influential senior HR leader with over 15 years of direct leadership experience. Before joining Trevali, she spent over 10 years at BC Hydro and 8 years at BCLC where she championed key strategic HR initiatives that leveraged talent to maximize business efficiencies. She has led workforce redesign projects, developed performance management and talent development frameworks, and provided strategic guidance on mergers, acquisitions and integrations. She is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources, holds a Strategic Human Resources Management Graduate Certification, Advanced Certification in Management and a Diploma in Criminal Justice. She is also a certified coach and facilitator for Kouzes and Posner’s leadership practices.
Chair of the Board
Ms. Gardiner is a professional corporate director and currently serves on the board of Capital Power Corporation and Hochschild Mining plc. Previously Ms. Gardiner spent over 20 years in the investment banking industry, most recently as Managing Director and Regional Head, British Columbia, for RBC Capital Markets. In her various roles in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and debt capital markets she provided strategic advice to, and helped raise capital for, numerous corporations with a focus on commodity-related, infrastructure and diversified industries. Ms Gardiner is the former Senior Project Manager at the Ontario Energy Board and lecturer at the University of Victoria in corporate finance and human resource management. She previously served as Board Chair of Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. and as a director of the boards of Capstone Mining Corp., Parkbridge Lifestyle Community Inc., SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, and Timber Investments. Ms. Gardiner holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration, both from Queen’s University.
Russell Ball is the Managing Director at QDBS Resources Inc. and the former Chief Executive Officer and a director and Executive Chairman of Calibre Mining Corp. Previously, Mr. Ball was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Development of Goldcorp Inc., a role he assumed in March 2016 after initially joining Goldcorp Inc. in 2013 and serving as Executive Vice President of Capital Projects, Strategy and Corporate Development, including oversight of their primary growth projects. Prior to his role with Goldcorp Inc., he served in varying capacities for Newmont Mining Corporation, including Strategic and Business Planning, culminating with his appointment as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He is both a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of South Africa and a Certified Public Accountant in the USA.
Ms. Hull has over 35 years of operational leadership and engineering experience, most notably holding the positions of Chief Operating Officer for Rio Tinto plc at the Kennecott Utah Copper Mine and Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Peabody Energy Corporation. Ms. Hull has also held numerous management engineering and operations positions with Rio Tinto and affiliates. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, she held positions with Mobil Mining and Minerals, and has additional engineering, environmental and regulatory affairs experience in the public and private sector. Ms. Hull is currently a director of Epiroc AB, Interfor Corporation and Pretium Resources Inc., and also serves on the Advisory Board for South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. A retired Registered Professional Engineer, Ms. Hull holds a Bachelor of Science (Civil Eng.) from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University.
